Stripping ... The Colonel's Way (bumped for further results)

ALWAYS READ AND UNDERSTAND THE LABELS !!!

Addendum Finecast resin in IPA.

Finecast resin sprue was tested, in 99.9% IPA, over one week. The resin 'rubberised', initially, and by the end of the period, was soft and crumbly. Finecast resin pieces should not be soaked in neat IPA, for any extended period of time. This is in line, with my experience with resins, in methanol-based, solvent products (e.g. 'methylated spirits').

  3. Awesome stuff. It looks horribly easy! How potent is the stuff and do you need much ventilation? Thanks

  4. Hi K,

Just stripped 'Testy Bob', who was even worse than the marine; same result.

Potent in what way? As a tipple? ;)

I have no special ventilation (in fact, none to speak of, really), but people can differ and I would always advise others to follow what the label says.
