Colonel's Cardstocking Compendium !!! (Part 11b)
Section (Ib): Inkjet Printing, Refilling and Pastel Correction
In Section (la), the test tiles illustrated how ink inconsistencies, following refilling, could be a problem (clicky for biggy) ...
Although liquid washes/glazes can be used, to 'fix' the problem (depending on the colours which are out of balance), dry pastels may be used, as blending is much easier and controllable (and fun !!!) ...
Of course, on a bigger project (perhaps all projects !!!), balancing at the printing stage is the best approach.
I used my Toison D'Or, brown, pastel set, so as to correct the tiles, blending (with fingers) the 51 brown and the 21 black, in different areas of each tile, to taste ...
Pastel applications were sealed with cheap hairspray (hairdryer-assisted), and then a final application of matt varnish (x2, hairdryer-assisted), so as to seal the surface. A very light brush, with 1500 grit, wet/dry, paper was carried out, where it was needed, so as to tidy the surfaces.
